SEADRIF was honored to participate in the ABAC-APFF-APFIF-APIP Roundtable on Mobilizing Capital for Innovative, Resilient, and Sustainable Growth, held on 23 June 2025 in a hybrid format, both in Tokyo and virtually. The event gathered leading voices from government, industry, international organizations, and academia to shape priorities for the upcoming APEC Finance Ministers' Roadmap, which will succeed the Cebu Action Plan.
Ms. Shannen Nicole Chua, Implementation and Program Development Specialist at the SEADRIF Insurance Company, joined a dynamic panel on Enabling Innovations in Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance (DRFI). She discussed the Philippine experience as a regional forerunner, and highlighted SEADRIF’s critical role in advancing the DRFI agenda and addressing existing gaps and challenges across the region.
The panel concluded that laying the foundation for DRF solutions through data and risk modeling, providing appropriate DRF solutions, and making risk transfer instruments affordable are critical to addressing the protection gap and enhancing resilience in the region.
Insights from this Roundtable will inform the next iteration of the Cebu Action Plan, which will be finalized within the year and will guide APEC’s programs for 2026–2030.
