Driving Impact through Evidence: SEADRIF at the Climate and Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance (CDRFI) Expert Dialogue

SEADRIF Insurance Company was pleased to contribute to the CDRFI Expert Dialogue, held virtually and in Bonn, Germany, from 25–26 June 2025. The event convened experts and practitioners from the public and private sectors, multilateral organizations and academia, to explore how to strengthen the role of evidence in scaling up and improving climate and disaster risk financing and insurance systems globally.

Ms. Shannen Nicole Chua, Implementation and Program Development Specialist at SEADRIF Insurance Company, joined the open webinar and insight session on "Assessing Disaster Relief Payouts by Regional Risk Pools", offering reflections on how evaluation processes can be streamlined and adapted to the capacity of member countries. Ms. Chua emphasized the role of targeted, context-sensitive assessments in enhancing program delivery and effectiveness.

Broader discussions across the Dialogue underscored the importance of multi-actor partnerships in advancing inclusive and resilient financial solutions.
Insights from the Dialogue will inform ongoing efforts to build stronger, evidence-based approaches to climate and disaster risk finance across the region and beyond.

The Expert Dialogue is jointly organized by Munich Climate Insurance Initiative, United Nations University - Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS), Climate Vulnerable Forum and V20 Finance Ministers (CVF-V20), Global Shield against Climate Risks, and University of California, Davis.
