SEADRIF’s Chief Operating and Financial Officer, Ms. Ellen Yong, participated as an expert speaker at the Third Financial Leadership Training Course 2025. This event was held in Hong Kong on 19-22 August, and was jointly organized by the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBi), ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA).
Ms. Yong participated in the panel discussion on “Sustainability, Carbon Markets and Disaster Risk Insurance: Options and Challenges for ASEAN+3 Economies”. She highlighted the urgent need for pre-arranged disaster finance and regional risk pooling to protect national budgets, safeguard communities, and maintain fiscal stability amidst mounting climate-related shocks.
The program convened over 30 senior policymakers from Ministries of Finance, central banks, and monetary authorities across ASEAN+3 to exchange perspectives on financial resilience, climate transition, and sustainable growth.
Through case studies, simulations, and in-depth discussions, participants examined regional economic outlooks, green and sustainable finance, fintech, and leadership strategies to strengthen financial and institutional resilience.
SEADRIF values the opportunity to contribute to this important training program and reaffirm its commitment as a government-owned, not-for-profit risk pool serving the region.
