We’re delighted to welcome Lisa Yu to SEADRIF! Lisa is a UK-qualified actuary with over 15 years of experience across actuarial consulting, re/insurance pricing, reserving, capital modelling, and sovereign risk finance. She began her career in Sydney and later worked in London with several Lloyd’s syndicates, before transitioning to the public sector in 2020.
Since then, Lisa has supported disaster risk financing strategies at the World Bank, including work on the Pacific risk pool (PCRIC), and most recently played a key role in managing the World Food Programme’s internal Captive. Her experience spans technical pricing, risk strategy design, and engagement at the ministry level across multiple regions.
Lisa is committed to rethinking insurance so that it better serves vulnerable communities. This aligns strongly with SEADRIF’s work to deliver innovative, needs-driven risk financing solutions across the region. Her blend of private- and public-sector experience strengthens our ability to support governments in building financial resilience to climate and disaster risks.
