SEADRIF had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Hand-in-Hand Investment Dialogue for Asia and the Pacific, hosted by FAO in Bangkok from 18–20 June 2025. This regional platform brought together governments, development partners, international financial institutions, and private sector actors to catalyze investment in sustainable and resilient agrifood systems.

SEADRIF’s Implementation and Program Development Specialist Shannen Nicole Chua attended the Dialogue and joined a Thematic Roundtable on Innovative Finance, where she highlighted the importance of innovative financing and regional collaboration to strengthen resilience against climate and disaster risks across Southeast Asia. Ms. Chua shared SEADRIF’s parametric flood program in Lao PDR and current efforts to explore a regional approach to agriculture insurance solutions.

SEADRIF presented its ongoing collaboration with FAO and six ASEAN countries to explore the Southeast Asia Agriculture Risk Finance Facility, a regional initiative currently undergoing pre-feasibility assessment. The goal is to design a fit-for-purpose facility that enhances agricultural risk protection at scale through smart pooling, innovation, and shared investment.

During her speech, Ms Chua called on stakeholders to support and actively participate in turning the vision of a more resilient and food-secure future into action. We thank FAO for convening this important dialogue and look forward to building a more resilient and food-secure future for the region.
