Catastrophe Risk Insurance Product

The Insurance Company has structured a new parametric sovereign disaster risk insurance policy for Lao PDR, the first in the world to use a unique trigger based on the cumulative government – reported  number of people affected across several types of disasters. This new model, which reimagines Disaster Risk Financing, can be expanded in the future to meet the demands of other countries in a changing regional landscape.
