SEADRIF Insurance Company welcomes Ms. Shannen Nicole Chua as the Implementation and Program Development Specialist

SEADRIF Insurance Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Shannen Nicole Chua as the Implementation and Program Development Specialist. In this role, Shannen will spearhead the implementation of the work program with the Philippine government and contribute to business development with other members. As a core team member, she will play a critical role in driving the Company’s growth.

Before joining SEADRIF, Shannen was the Bureau of the Treasury’s (BTr’s) technical lead for disaster risk financing and non-financial asset management from 2017. She was instrumental in implementing the Philippine Catastrophe Bond, the National Indemnity Insurance Program, and advancing risk analysis using Geographic Information System. She also contributed to the Philippine Government Asset Management Policy’s issuance. Over the years, Shannen has collaborated with key development partners such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and Japan International Cooperation Agency on numerous strategic initiatives.

In 2022, Shannen earned her Master of Professional Studies in Global Development from Cornell University.

“Being from the Philippines and having worked in government, I have witnessed firsthand the critical role institutions like SEADRIF play in strengthening disaster risk finance,” said Shannen. “I am excited to join SEADRIF and continue advancing disaster resilience in the region, ensuring governments and their people are adequately prepared.”
