We’re delighted to welcome Ayumi Kato to SEADRIF. Ayumi is a program management and policy coordination professional with over five years of experience working across Japan and Singapore, supporting international collaboration throughout East and Southeast Asia. She will be supporting donor engagement and leading program management for SEADRIF-SAFE (Sovereign Assets & Fiscal Empowerment), with a particular focus on the Task Force.

Before joining SEADRIF, Ayumi worked at the intersection of climate, energy, and science policy — helping governments and partners translate high-level commitments into practical action. Her work has included managing government-funded regional initiatives and convening senior leaders from ministries, international partners, universities, and industry. She has served as a Science & Innovation Officer at the British Embassy in Tokyo and as a Science, Innovation & Technology Adviser at the British High Commission in Singapore. Fluent in Japanese, she has collaborated closely with stakeholders in Japan and across Southeast Asia.

Having witnessed climate impacts firsthand growing up in Southeast Asia, she is excited to leverage her experience in policy coordination and regional collaboration to help SEADRIF-SAFE turn technical work into concrete, implementable solutions.
