We’re delighted to welcome Malavika Menon to SEADRIF!

Malavika is a knowledge management and communications professional with over seven years of experience spanning social protection, private sector investment, and international development operations with a strong focus on translating capacity-building, knowledge sharing and results frameworks to stakeholders.

At SEADRIF, Malavika will support the creation and dissemination of knowledge products that showcase SEADRIF’s growing technical capabilities, operational experience, and future-focused vision—helping ensure our work is accessible to partners across the region.

Malavika has worked with teams across the World Bank Group, where she co-authored a report on gender development and global results-based financing approaches. She led data collection efforts across Asia Pacific and the Middle East for the World Bank Business Ready 2024 report, and supported operations and communications for initiatives including the Compact with Africa Trust Fund and the World Bank Academy.

A Fulbright Scholar from Columbia University, Malavika brings deep regional experience in Southeast Asia shaped by her earlier career as a Social Affairs journalist at The Straits Times in Singapore. As a reporter and opinions columnist, she covered breaking news and in-depth stories on defense, climate action, welfare and education policy, and migration across print and digital platforms.

Malavika’s commitment to blend knowledge management and communications to make institutional operations and policies more inclusive and accessible—for both partners and the communities it serves—aligns strongly with SEADRIF’s role as a development insurer and thought leader in disaster risk financing across ASEAN.
