We are delighted to welcome Richard Poulter to SEADRIF.
Richard brings twenty years of experience as a general insurance actuary with a background in both indemnity and parametric insurance, including more than a decade of work on disaster risk finance projects globally with the World Bank.
He joins SEADRIF to lead the development of the Sovereign Asset and Fiscal Empowerment Facility (SEADRIF-SAFE), an initiative backed by ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers to embed insurance directly into the way countries finance development.
Richard most recently served as Chief Risk Officer at the Pacific Catastrophe Risk Insurance Company (PCRIC). He is deeply familiar with SEADRIF, having supported its establishment and led the reinsurance placement of our first parametric policy in 2021. Throughout his career he has also worked with SEADRIF member governments, including on a parametric insurance program for the Philippines and the establishment of Indonesia's Pooling Fund for Disasters.
Originally from the UK and now based in Auckland, New Zealand, Richard's experience strengthens SEADRIF's technical capabilities as we advance SAFE across the region.
