Are you an experienced leader in insurance and operations who can help build and grow SEADRIF to the next level?

Join us to help take crisis out of disaster in Southeast Asia!

We are recruiting a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to strengthen our operational foundations and delivery as our work scales across ASEAN.

Role Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a member of the management team, reporting to the CEO. The COO has two mandates: running the Company's operational infrastructure to the standard expected of a regulated insurer, and serving as a commercial and institutional voice in the management team as SEADRIF grows.

The COO works alongside the CFO/CRO and the Head of Product as the senior management team under the CEO. The COO will be responsible for ensuring the Company operates as a well-run, MAS-regulated insurer, with clear workflows, functioning internal systems, reliable reporting, and a team that can execute. The COO will oversee insurance operations (including outsourced service providers), board and corporate governance, donor and partner compliance, procurement, HR, IT, and day-to-day team operations.

The COO also brings a commercial and business perspective to the management team. As the Company grows and develops new initiatives, the COO will be directly involved in shaping business models, positioning new products and facilities, and building the operating architecture to support them from the ground up. This includes working with technical teams, defining what processes and structures need to look like, and drawing from private sector operating discipline to adapt it to SEADRIF's unique environment.

A deep understanding of insurance and the industry’s business processes is critical. But this is not a role that executes stable existing processes. We are not looking for someone who maintains existing systems. We are looking for someone who builds them, and who brings business judgment to how the Company develops. This requires someone comfortable in a lean, growing, high-performance, mission-driven environment. We are a small team. The role requires senior judgment, the ability to operate across institutional, regulatory, and operational domains, and a willingness to work at every level of detail required. The right person brings the professional maturity to run core company operations independently, and the humility to do whatever the situation demands.
