We are recruiting a Strategic Development Lead to strengthen our upstream product and business development work as our product pipeline deepens, our member base expands, and demand for SEADRIF’s solutions grows across the region.
Role Summary
The Strategic Development Lead reports to the Chief Executive Officer and works in close daily collaboration with the Head of Product. The role sits at the intersection of these two mandates, owning the early-stage execution of upstream product and business development work.
The CEO provides strategic direction, member relationships, and institutional positioning. The Head of Product provides technical product knowledge, actuarial judgment, and market understanding. The Strategic Development Lead provides the structured execution bandwidth, member-as-client intelligence, and follow-through discipline that neither currently has capacity to develop properly.
This is not a relationship management or public affairs role. It is a commercial development role oriented toward understanding what SEADRIF members need as prospective insurance clients, developing initial propositions, managing early-stage conversations, and ensuring the product pipeline is fed with well-formed opportunities. The role requires someone who can bridge the public and private sides of disaster risk finance, translate government needs into insurance product concepts, and drive early-stage work with the pace and precision a lean, high-performance team demands.
The right person is intellectually curious, commercially minded, and deeply motivated by the mission. They are comfortable moving between a minister’s office and a reinsurer’s pricing meeting. They keep all ducks in a row while constantly opening new lanes.
